Homewood Project – Phase II
In Phase II of the project in Homewood, the BoH Project worked with the Bible Center Church (Project partner), Oasis Farm (Project partner), the Waller Corporation (Construction Project Manager) and McCurley Houston Electric Inc. (Electricians) to install additional solar panels on the property and retro-fit an existing triplex building so that it runs on DC (direct current) power. The decision was made to retro-fit this system to not only help lower costs, but to avoid great disruption to the structure itself.
Both the Bible Center Church and Oasis Farm offices are located in this triplex building. While the AC (alternating current) still exists as a back-up in an emergency, running the triplex on DC power will have a profound effect on utility costs.
We're excited to share the project specs, site drawings, materials list, and vendor list with the intention of providing reference materials for others who would like to replicate this system for their own purposes.
